The Glen Fosslyn Stud

The history of Glen Fosslyn Droughtmaster Stud.

The Glen Fosslyn Droughtmaster Stud was founded in 1988 with the D1 classification of selected Glen Fosslyn commercial females and the purchase of selected Booralee and Truvale Stud Females in 1989.

Droughtmaster sires were exclusively used over Weebollabolla type Shorthorns as well as droughtmaster females in the commercial herd from 1975 until the foundation of the Stud. During the 1990’s the sires Clonlara Noah, Giunda 125 and Garthowen Yellow had had a major influence on the Stud, contributing towards the Stud’s reputation of producing large framed, well proportioned cattle at an early age.

Over recent years home bred sires and Bold Baron have produced huge advances for the Stud in growth EBV’s, particularly in the 600-Day Weight EBV. Glen Fosslyn 86 and Glenlands 1712 have now continued this strong growth factor in the Stud.
